Lost!
This is it. The last season of Lost. The last season of a series that perpetually ends with a cliffhanger, an overhead crane shot of one of the characters in as much distress as the audience and with actor and audience alike cursing “Son of a bitch!” at the island and J. J. Abrams. The White House even needed to announce that they wouldn’t preempt it with the State of the Union. Join us this Tuesday, February 2 at 8PM for the start of the new season and every Tuesday thereafter until it’s done.
Art Opening and Cask Ale
This Thursday, February 4th we’re drinking up some special Ithaca Beer cask ale and launching a new art show. Come check out all new pixel/lego art and new stencils by upstate NY’s greatest street artist and Pixel alumnus MC DEATH BEAR! DJ Air Man will be playing a video game/chiptune set followed by Dr. Z blasting house/drum and bass for the rest of the night! BE THERE AND SUPPORT THE DEATH BEAR
Super Bowl
Do you like tasty beer? Do you like free snacks? Do you like your football projected on a 13′ screen? Then come on out for Super Bowl XLIV on Sunday, February 7th at Pixel. New Orleans Saints vs Indiannapolis Colts. Who dat? Well, the Who actually. They’re rocking the halftime show at the Sun Life Stadium in Miami with special guest David Caruso as CSI: Miami’s Horatio Caine. Kick off is at 6:30PM.
This Saturday (the 14th!), from 8-9:30PM, we’re having an Astronomy party! If you have questions about science, extra-solar planets, black holes, galaxies, or anything else, the astronomers behind the “Ask an Astronomer” website will be at your service (hopefully wearing some snazzy Sagan turtlenecks). What we need more of is science! ( facebook rsvp )
This Friday (the 13th!), the fine folks from Bellwether are bringing a cask conditioned pin of experimental hard cider. If the only hard ciders you’ve tried were ungodly sweet mass marketed fermented apple juice, you need to try their artisan approach to making America’s original beverage of choice. We’re cracking the cask at 7PM so come in before we drink it up. We also have their Liberty Spy already on tap, so if you can’t make the event, stop by for a draft pour of this tasty cider.

What was three nights of cask ale to celebrate the Ithaca Brew Fest, is now two. It seems the yeast at Empire Brewing are a little feisty and managed to pop the bung right out of the cask. We do, however, have both their nitro cream ale and summer ale on draft this week and they are both very tasty.
Tonight (Thursday, Sept. 3), Ithaca Beer is releasing their seasonal beer Cold Front. Brewed with a Belgian saison yeast, this dark amber beer is subtly spicy, flavorful and reminiscent of the St. Bernardus / Pierre Celis Grottenbier we had on draft. I keep coming up with excuses to stop by the brewery to try it. Cask is tapped at 7PM and will last until I finish it.
Tomorrow (Friday, Sept. 4th), Sly Fox is bringing the old school. Their British Pale Ale is brewed with British Maris Otter malt and a small amount of Crystal malt. Short of football hooliganism (well, I know one might show up) and a cheap chipper, this is the closest you’ll get to a UK pub night.

James and I are pouring in the VIP at the brew fest this weekend. If you’re one of the lucky few who got tickets before they sold out, come on over and say hi to us and the tasty tasty beer. Otherwise, we’re partying it up after the fest at Pixel with a number of the brewers. It will be dangerous.
We’re maniacally optimistic…and thirsty. For Ithaca Beer’s Cask Ale Night tomorrow (Thursday 4/16) we’ll have a cask of dry hopped Flower Power AND a cask of CascaZilla. So we need your commitment to beer, drinking local and not letting a drop of this tasty brew go to waste at the end of the night. First cask gets tapped at 7PM. Let’s kill the first cask before Happy Hour runs out at 8PM.

The fine folks of Jim Beam wanted to get y’all together again so they could buy you drinks and pour some tastes of the assorted Beams, Maker’s Mark, Basil Hayden’s, (ri)1 and more. In this economy, who doesn’t want free booze? Bourbon! Rye! Free! This Thursday the 12th, 8-10PM. ( facebook event )
