We’re still waiting for the crash and burn moment, so we’re putting Obama and McCain up on the big screen once again this Tuesday 10/7 for the second Presidential Debate at Belmont University. We’re live at 9PM. So come early to grab a seat and stay late with new Tuesday night Disc Jockey Tipsy Russell.

If all the candidates show up, we’ll have the Presidential Debate up on the big screen this Friday at 9PM. I’m assuming the economy will be saved by tonight so there’s a good chance it’ll happen. Democracy!
You might have noticed we have some new art on the walls at Pixel but the official opening is this Saturday at 8PM. Come meet Sophy Bot! “An absurdist and artist whose medium is life, Sophy Bot challenges expectations with logical nonsense and nonsensical logic while doing a bit of this that and everything (and sometimes nothing at all). Her current exhibition focuses on the digital realm and its impact on how we view the world around us. From insect invasions to real-world emoticons, Bot’s works depict a newly digitized modernity.” Art!
We have a special treat from Ithaca Beer this Thursday at 7PM: cask conditioned and wet hopped Outdoor Harvest Ale. This limited and draft only brew is packed with New York State Cascade hops from the Pederson Farms in Seneca Castle. The hops are used as is and without kiln drying; imparting a rich floral aroma without the usual bitterness of a highly hopped IPA. Combine this with a tasty malt base and you have a very drinkable beer. Drinkable here while the cask lasts, from growlers filled at the brewery and on draft at Pixel soon.
We’re kicking off Monday Movie Night with a Coen brothers marathon. Movie starts at 8PM with Happy Hour all night. Here’s the line-up:
- 9/15 - No Country for Old Men
- 9/22 - O Brother, Where Art Thou?
- 9/29 - The Big Lebowski
- 10/6 - The Hudsucker Proxy
- 10/13 - Raising Arizona
If you haven’t already heard, the second annual Ithaca Brew Fest is this Saturday at Stewart Park. You should definitely check it out. However, if you want to make a full weekend of it, you should be at Pixel this Friday at 7PM for a Jim Beam bourbon and bourbon cocktail tasting. This means free cocktails, snacks and a slightly academic tasting of Jim Beam, Maker’s Mark, Basil Hayden’s and Knob Creek. They’re also bringing white dog, which is straight out of distillation, uncut and with no barrel aging. White dog is a Team Pixel favorite. Free whiskey! Free whiskey!
Cucumber is the Fruit of the Week and we’ve muddled together a nice and tasty gimlet with Hendricks for you. We do, however, need a name for this and we’re challenging you to come up with something related to Scotland, Cucumbers and/or Roses that isn’t entirely crass. Of course, if you have way too much time on your hands you can try Marilyn Monroe Made Of Cucumbers.
Please join us tonight for a bit of politics and rocking out. We’re showing Barack’s DNC acceptance speech at 10PM followed by a Bob Proehl driven dance party. We’re drinking more than the Kool-Aid tonight.
