We have new beer, eh? We’d like to welcome two new breweries to Ithaca and our bellies. A favorite of Pennsylvanians for years, Troegs is starting to trickle in. At the moment, we have their HopBack Amber. This is nice, malty and smooth with complimentary but not overwhelming hops. Quaffable. Also just in from Battle Creek, Michigan are two new brews from Arcadia Brewing. The Cocoa Loco Triple Chocolate Stout is very drinkable even at 7% ABV. It’s slightly nutty and very chocolate. Go crazy? Don’t mind if I do! (And we kinda did during the release event.) The HopMouth Double IPA has a great balance between its 8.1% ABV and 76 IBUs of hops. Unlike the San Diego style (Damn you Green Flash Le Freak), this beer has a familiar east coast balance that you can drink all day. Well, you’ll pass out before your palate will anyhow. Check these beers out and welcome them to the neighborhood.
So after badgering Time Warner Cable for 3 weeks, we now have ESPNU just in time to bring you game 1 of Cornell Men’s Hockey’s 2008-09 season. Join us at 4PM this Friday as the Big Red take on the Princeton Tigers live on the big screen. You’re always welcome to bring dinner or snacks. We, as always, have plenty of beer.
Oh what a night… Ithaca is so charged up over this, I’m worried about wide spread liberal rioting this November 4th no matter what the outcome. So we’re taking up defensive positions inside Pixel to watch the results come in. Jeff Hanand CNN have their magic wall, but can you dance your tangible ass off on it? Let’s party down to politics one more time.

Saturday 10/11 is the last bout of the season for Ithaca’s own roller derby team. The Ithaca SufferJets will take-on and take-out the Hellions of Troy at 6PM at Cass Park. Cheer them on and then party down with the team after the match at Pixel.
